My father arrived to this facility after a hip replacement. His treatment was absolutely disgusting they tried to force him to have a brain scan claiming he had memory loss. It was nothing of the sort my father was up around walking completely ofvany medication with in the first week . They kept him confined to his room all day in spite of my father being able to walk around unaided himself there agenda was to have my father placed in a nursing home .. my father is a fit man with total abilities on all levels .. a full investigation has been lodged with the treatment my father received at this facility and this place should be shut down I have heard many disturbing stories regarding this facility and there shameful practices .. general public please be truly aware and avoid this facility at all costs .

I cannot praise the doctors, nurses and carers enough at ward 1D. They welcomed my mother, awaiting placement into a nursing home, with smiles and the greatest of care. They make you feel like a part of a family. Not once did I have a bad … More

Doctors have no bedside manner. Also fancy reporting me for taking “to many painkillers” and reporting me to my dr how can one actually make that call when it was over the phone and I got woken up by the dr calling!! Not to mention I was meant to have a trial of a Bladder pace maker had the phone call all was well told I’d get a call to organise to get it fitted 3 YEARS LATER STILL NOTHING!!! I will be making a formal complaint! I’ll be there tomorrow definitely not look forward to it…..purposely not going to these appointments nothing good about this place!!

My 93 yr mother was here for two weeks while waiting for placement in aged care facility...absolutely couldn't wait to get her out of there, most of the time she never had her hair brushed, glasses were not on, crying alot, wouldn't surprise me if they didn't brush her teeth. I'm a retired nurse/carer.. so I know they cut corner's... she was miserable... went in one day, she was sitting in the hallway near nursing station, crying, sitting in her wet dirty pad, so I bought it to the attention of carer.. in which they did change her... wasn't happy.

Hi Rachel, This sounds like an extremely frustrating experience for both you and your mother. We're sorry to hear about this - it is not the level of care we aim to provide. We take this kind of feedback very seriously and will pass it on to the relevant teams. If you would like to speak to someone about your experience, please contact our CALHN consumer experience team https://centraladelaide.health.sa.gov.au/consumer-feedback/. - Ryan, Communications team

The nursing staff are second to none. Not having a doctor come and speak face to face once or twice a week is not the best especially when changing medications without speaking to the patients or a relative. Ward 1C does not give physio or other therapies needed by patients waiting for placement. Its the government of the day that makes it this way so they need to put more into it and upgrade things from old ways to new ways such as heated food trolleys so the meals are kept hot from the kitchen to the wards, as RAH now has.

One realizes its not the RAH but its time to upgrade most things so the staff are allowed to carry out services needed. Of course better pay and more staff should happen ASAP. Staff serving cups of tea etc are friendly and make a nice hot drink and the cleaners are good too. Why make Hampstead staff pay for parking aren't they working hard enough to a least earn free parking. We thank ALL staff for their friendliness and care and may God Bless them all.

My partner is in the brain injury unit and is getting excellent care. The doctors are quick to investigate issues. The nurses and support staff understand the confused moods of the patients and always remain professional. They are great with the family as well.

I was fortunate to be referred, following a vehicle t-boning me on my push bike. Hannah and Selena have my well-being and recovery at the forefront. I wish I had been referred earlier. They have taken control so that I can focus on recovery. I am emotional while typing this, I am very happy with the genuine care.

I was there for 3.5 mths recovering from a stroke. The physios and OT staff were fantastic and made my days easier. Their care and focus on the patients' recovery was second to none. Nothing else was though. Nursing staff generally were ok but a few were quite rude to the point of being disrespectful. Internally, the buildings were in a state of disrepair and food was reheated mush trucked in from the RAH. Couldn't wait to leave!

Hampstead Rehabilitation... How annoyingly amusing of you to enforce me to reside out from the shadows just to pluck several bones of your fallacies. It's utterly tiresome, ah no... of grave inconvenience let's say, that I must crush your talocrural region of your corporation, you know? You portray yourself as soldiers who sort to "help" remnants of those sent off to your clutches. While some of you retain the most basic of room temperature IQ, some of which cannot comprehend commonplace illnesses that are beyond a sedative to amend. To that avail, is the laughable motive. Money. Let us not kid ourselves here the deriving factor of societal norms, yes? Performing "good" for the sake of treating patients who are becoming shells of themselves as "experience" isn't necessarily a deed of good especially for those who retaining underlying snake eyes to attain profit, isn't that right Shirley Rasiah? Maybe an acting career would befit you perfectly! I'm ever so certain your endearing mother would be ever so proud of a daughter sapping money away from the distressed and weak, wretched liar the epitome of a foul thing you are. Yes, you care little for the helpless certainly are not fond on following up with equipment forced upon are of functionality on your victims. A corporation that'll stroke each other within their systematics all to vacuum up as much of your finances as possible to any degree, that is the reality. All may you forbid that you are a helpless wretch and fall into the depths of this Rehabilitation Centre, the barest bones of checks who shall see your loved ones which inscribes problematic ploys in itself as one could imagine. Many fallacies that will be overlooked. Now, now, you may observe reviews and do whatever you wish I am merely basing this on the observations and amalgamative experiences of many into one, the risk shall be yours.

My husband had a stroke on the 1st of April this year and was flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital and admitted to the stroke unit, where he recieved great care from the nursing staff. On the 15th of April he was transferred to Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre to begin his rehab. From day one of being admitted he was treated as a friend more than a patient, by Doctors, Nurses, Physio, and Occupational Therapists. Their dedication and understanding is excellent, absolutely nothing was too much trouble when he needed advice, support or help. When he arrived his movement all down his left side was very minimal and today on the 23rd of May he is walking with a single walking stick, able to shower, dress and feed himself independantly. He now has back his confidence to achieve all that is achievable due to the treatment he has recieved from the staff at Hampstead. On the 7th of June my husband will fly back to qld to our home, and i am sure he will speak of the staff on many occasions with love and gratitude for helping him through such a difficult time. If any of the staff read this review, we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. If any one is given the opportunity to go to Hampstead for rehab, grab it with both hands and enjoy the ride, it is hard work and they push your limits and boundaries and the results are well worth it. It is a wonderful place, run by wonderful caring and dedicated staff whose job is to make you as independant as possible in a very supportive enviroment. Well done guys we will miss you all.

THE GOVERMENT NEEDS TO PUT IN MORE MONEY UNDERSTAFFED AND UNDERFUNDED AND MAKE IT THE WAY IT WAS 25 YEARS AGO. I am a patient and habe found it terrible the public health system in sa is broken. There are not enogh staff to provide the services needed like physio speech ot and any referal from here to the RAH is given low priority and they do not let you know what services and support are available i had to find out from taljing to other patients and nurses. They have with held my pain meds which resulted in me having saw ribs for 2 weeks.

Very helpful and friendly staff. I was recovering from a brain injury and they helped me throughout the day to day tasks and memory tests. No one is genuinly happy about going somewhere new but as long as you keep a positive out look it can be a wonderful experience

Min 10 hours wait for covid testing. Bring water & snacks. Rude covid Staff, not helpful at all. Not even allowed to stand under shade in 34c temp. You have to wait in car, make sure it had a/c and full tank of fuel
