As a dementia caregiver, writer/author and certified dementia practitioner and consultant, I give this book by Adam Wainwright MA, 5 stars. In my experience in working with persons with Lewy Body disorders, I have found all the information to be extremely useful and I will recommend it to all who have concerns about symptoms and treatments. right on target. All dementia types are horrible. All types have their own characteristics and each person within those types has a different journey. However, it is too common for error in diagnosis.
This is sad and unfortunate, because some types of dementia don't do well with medications and treatments prescribed for other dementia disorders such as Alzheimers.
Lewy Body Dementia: Causes, Tests and Treatment Options is the choice for more technical examination of the pathways, the chemistry, the treatments and medications.
This is an exceptional book that every busy health care professional should take time to read. Far too many professionals still diagnose all memory loss as Alzheimer's. It is important to diagnose dementia types more accurately for the sake of all concerned. For a more realistic view of what is happening and a caregiver's comprehensive guide of how to deal with the symptoms and behaviors, I would recommend an additional book from a caregiver's experience and point of view.
